Tanner to lead astrophotography discussion alongside Mitchell Memorial Library exhibit

STARKVILLE, Miss.āAngelle Tanner, »ØŠćÖ±²„ State assistant professor of physics and astronomy, will discuss astrophotography using the āOut of this Worldā exhibit currently on display at MSUās Mitchell Memorial Library.
The Thursday [Feb. 23] discussion will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Grisham Room and is free and open to all.
Tanner holds a bachelorās degree in astronomy and physics from the University of Arizona, and masterās and doctoral degrees in astronomy from UCLA. She has been interested in finding habitable planets among outside solar systems since she was quite young. Her research focuses on multiple methods of extrasolar planet detection, including using radial velocities, astrometry and direct imaging. Tanner has been published in The Astrophysical Journal, The Astronomical Journal and Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.
The āOut of the Worldā exhibition in the third-floor John Grisham Room features images by renowned space science artist and educator Edwin Faughn, as well as astrophotographers Fred Howell, Bill Kennedy, Jon Talbot, David Teske and Stephen Winkler.
