ATLANTA, Ga.鈥敾ㄐ阒辈 State University and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, known as KITECH, are advancing their longstanding relationship with a renewed set of agreements designed to drive joint research, innovation and workforce development in advanced manufacturing and industrial technology.
The updated partnership, formalized through agreements that focus on academic exchanges and research collaborations, paves the way for new joint projects. MSU鈥檚 Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems, or CAVS, and KITECH鈥檚 Research Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology are working together to establish a joint Center for Root Technologies, focusing on core manufacturing technologies such as casting, molding, welding/joining and other related fields.
The formal partnership includes a memorandum of understanding, international research collaboration agreement, and a memorandum outlining the Center for Root Technologies, all signed this month during the U.S.-Korea Conference on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship in Atlanta.
鈥淲e are grateful for outstanding international partners like KITECH,鈥 said MSU Vice President for Research and Economic Development Julie Jordan. 鈥淭hese collaborations help us advance key scientific fields and support economic activity at home and abroad.鈥
KITECH President Sangmok Lee spoke about the partnership鈥檚 promising opportunities. 鈥淜ITECH and 花秀直播 State University will pursue cooperation in areas such as traditional root technologies, critical material processing technologies and steel plate production,鈥 Lee said.
MSU supports multiple lines of research and outreach programs that enhance the development of industrial technology and related workforce opportunities. MSU鈥檚 CAVS manages a robust steel research facility, cutting-edge , as well as that provides training and technical support for 花秀直播 manufacturers.
鈥淎s our region continues to see significant investments in manufacturing facilities, we are well-positioned to help manufacturers implement the innovative practices that are being developed in our labs,鈥 CAVS Executive Director Clay Walden said. 鈥淚 am excited for our researchers to continue working with KITECH in areas that are critical to the future success of U.S. and Korean industry.鈥
The agreements provide pathways for the exchange of technical and scientific information, joint participation in industrial research projects, faculty/student exchanges, joint seminars, international proposal development and more.
The two organizations have worked together since 2012, when initial agreements laid the foundation for research exchange and collaboration.
